Its propeller spins around and sings “vvvvvv!” (make one arm go round)
The airplane goes up (lift arms)
The airplane goes down (lower arms)
The airplane flies high (arms outstretched, turn body around)
Over the town! (fly around)

A Truck Goes Rattley-Bumpa by Jonathan London- A great baby storytime read. Can be used with toddlers too but you may need to add some filler to the very sparse text.

Trucks by Patricia Hubbell- Toddler boys will especially like the illustrations of different kinds of trucks from fire engines to moving trucks.

Boats by Patricia Hubbell- A pretty interesting look at the different kinds of boats. Goes really in depth so skip over some details when reading aloud.

The Little Dump Truck by Margery Cuyler- Not an especially interesting story or illustrations but is a good fit if you are doing a Car themed storytime and need one more book.

Car Wash by Sandra Steen - Using a mixed media style of illustration and create fonts this imaginative story is envisioned by a pair of kids going through the car wash in the backseat of their father's car.

Little Blue Truck Leads the Way by Alice Schertle- A little blue truck ventures into the big city and get shoved about by all the other bigger forms of transportation.

Dinos on the Go by Karma Wilson- Follows the same recipe as her book "Dinos in the Snow." What kid doesn't like dinosaurs and trucks. Put them together and you get an instant hit! Though I often find her books can lose kids by the end due to the sheer amount of repetition.

Clickety Clack by Rob and Amy Spence - A fun train ride of a book. Great call and response participation with the familiar line "clikety clack" which kids can accompany with clapping out the syllables.

If I Built a Car by Chris Van Dusen- Nice rhyming scheme and lush, colorful illustrations from the creator of Mercy Watson. On the long side so do wiht older pre-schoolers or do as your first book at storytime.

I am a Backhoe by Anna Grossnickle Hines- Fun book to have the kids mimic the movements of each piece of heavy machinery like the boy in the story does.

Vroomaloom Zoom by John Coy - A little girl and her father go for a drive and pass through all sorts of crazy terrain.

Tip Tip Dig Dig by Emma Garcia - With great large Eric Carle style illustrations this is a fun audience participation book. Get the kids to act out the motions of each type of machine. Ie: lift, dig, push to create a beautiful playground at the end of the book
