Night of the Veggie Monster by George McClements- Funny and cute! A child does not want to eat his peas because if he does he may turn into a veggie monster. Similar art style of drawing and photo collage to "Knuffle Bunny" series by Mo Willems.
Peanut Butter, Apple Butter, Cinnamon Toast - Fun food riddles where the kids can guess the food based on clues.
Dinnertime! by Sue Willams/ill. by Kerry Argent, 2001
Rah, Rah, Radishes by April Pulley Sayre- Big photographs of a variety of different foods at the market. Simple text and a great learning tool for kids.

Crunch Munch by Johnathan London/ill. by Michael Rex, 2001
If You Give A Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numerff/ill. by Felicia Bond, 1985
A Birthday for Cow by Jan Thomas - A fun read aloud to do in a couple funny voices. Duck will not give up on trying to incorporate a turnip into cows birthday cake.
Hi, Pizza Man! by Virginia Walter - While the pictures are very classic this is a fun book with some great lines for the audience to repeat with the reader. A humorous story filled with quirky animals.

Craft: Each child gets a sheet of paper with a pot drawn on it and some vegetable cut out of construction paper. They get to glue the veggies into the pot and color/draw with crayons.
